- hello there. i've had a 2065 ethernet card that has worked fine for quite
- some time. but it started acting up recently, and is now basically dead.
- i've replaced the cable and the transciever, so im positive it's the ethernet
- card at fault. after the machine has been on for some time (the time gets
- shorter each time.. it's down to about a minute now.) the card stops
- functioning. under amiga-os, it simply appears to stop working.
- under netbsd, im given a bit more information.. first a stream of
- "crc missmatch" messages are sent to console followed by the ominous
- "le0: no carrier" at this point, nothing makes it work again, aside
- from turning it off and letting it sit for a long time.
-
- i've already replaced the lance chip (AM7990) and the AM7992.. but to no
- avail. the problem is still there.
-
- my question is does anyone have experience with this particular piece of
- hardware and know what other components on the card are likely candidates
- to have gone?
-
- the card _does_ work for the period of time between when it
- is first turned on and it breaks. so i imagine it is some component crapping
- after a while.
-
- thank you for your help. these things are getting hard to find and are
- ridiculously priced anyway, so i would love to be able to fix the thing.
